The Rockbridge Young Farmers Association will meet Thursday, April 1 at 7 p.m. at the Rockbridge County Farm Bureau office building on Rt. 11. Please note the start time is back at 7 p.m.

RYF Announces Scholarship Opportunity
The Rockbridge Young Farmers Association is pleased to announce the availability of a college scholarship. Scholarship monies, up to $1500 will be awarded to current college students, and/or graduating high school seniors who are currently or will be enrolled in an accredited college or university in the field of agriculture, horticulture,forestry, health nutrition food and exercise, or natural resources.
Eligibility:
To be eligible a student must be a resident of the Rockbridge Area when school is not in session, and be in good academic standing. Additionally, scholarship recipients must remain in an agriculture related major for the duration of the school year monies are awarded. If the student changes major or drops out of school during the year the scholarship is awarded, the student will be required to return all awarded scholarship monies to this organization.
Application Process:
To apply a student must complete an application form, write a 500 word maximum essay on a selected agriculture related topic, and include two letters of recommendation one from a current teacher or professor and the other from a member of the field the student is pursuing an education. Applications are available here or by contacting Jessica Kelly, RYF Vice President, at (540) 463-5555. Application deadline is April 10, 2010.
